No, really. In 1801, when Joseph Marie Jacquard invented the Jacquard loom, the world saw a precursor to modern-day computer programming. Jacquard’s loom used a punch-card system to control the weave and design in textiles – a punch card which could be changed out to control the design. So although no actual computation was happening back then, Jacquard changed the game with his innovation.  And we’re so thankful! The Jacquard loom is responsible for many of the patterns we know and love, including  brocade, damask and matelasse. Amazing, to consider, isn’t it?

Since 1833, Garnier Thiebaut has been known as the premium manufacturer of high quality table linens for hotels, resorts and fine homes around the world. In their own facility in Gerardmer, France they continue to produce world renowned jacquard patterns in a wide assortment of colors and styles as well as developing state of the art technology for stain resistant cloth. We’re so excited to showcase beautiful new table linens from one of our favorite lines.

Our new introduction this season is Bosphore from Le Jacquard Francais. Made of 100% linen this new collection is simple, elegant and offered in three fashion forward colors. Le Jacquard Francais has been producing jacquard woven linens in the Vosges mountains of France since 1888. We love them because they have a fabric treatment which makes ironing easier and keeps them beautiful for ages and ages. The French, of course, are known for their wine and food. They know how to make linens to withstand both.

Our floor staff would be happy to assist you in planning your table using Le Jacquard Francais. From the linens to other details which make your home memorable, we’ve got you covered. Did you know we offer free design services? I think your Friday just got better, didn’t it?

Well, the fashion world is abuzz with her recent nautical outfits and it got us thinking: we’ll design a bed the Duchess would love. Full of whimsy and a nod to classic nautical stylings, it’s a bed fit for – well, a princess. Or you. Whichever.

I was born, raised and still live in Seattle. I’m a Downtown girl!

It is a joy to say i have worked at Table Top and Home for 14 months.

Right now Designers Guild products. I love the bright vibrant hot pinks, purples and chartreuse’s mixed with classic black and white patterns

What are your three desert-island CD’s you couldn’t live without?
Only 3? Ok, Elton John’s Yellow Brick Road, The Phantom of the Opera and James Taylor’s Greatest Hits.

Cantaloupe or Honeydew?
Honestly, I don’t eat either of them. I really don’t like the way they taste!

Best meal you’ve ever had
Best Meal: Caprese salad with buffalo mozzarella, Tuscano bread with olive oil dipping sauce, a blend of Greek and Italian olives and a side of prosciutto. Oh, I must not forget the wonderful bottle of prosecco to accompany this amazing food.

Biggest fear
I am very claustrophobic.

Most proud 
I am most proud of being a great mother and seeing the wonderful woman my daughter has become.

Secret indulgence
OK, I have been known to sit and watch three or four sappy Hallmark/Lifetime movies in a row only getting up to grab some kind of snack that is not healthy at all

Keva is a co-owner of Table Top and Home. While she resides in the San Francisco area, she’s in close communication with the sales floor each day. She travels to the PNW each month and her energy, excellent taste and keen eye keep TT&H on the forefront of the industry.

Favorite TT&H product? Why?
Sffera Celeste sheets. This are a work horse in our home. Ours have been washed probably hundreds of times (they are on their 8th year anniversary of purchase) and they are soft and buttery to the hand. Any one who visits in our home wants to claim them for their own. I need to get another set, so they will eventually be ready when then others wear out.

What are your three desert-island CD’s you couldn’t live without?
I don’t need the music, I could make my own.

Cantaloupe or Honeydew?
Definitely honeydew.

Best meal you’ve ever had:
Fleur de Lys, San Francisco: too many superlatives to detail appropriately.

Biggest fear:
That customers don’t like our quality and style.

Most proud of:
My husband and my beautiful children.

Secret indulgence:
Not so secret: dark chocolate and shoes – not together and not always in that order.

So when former Sonic basketball star Lenny Wilkins and his wife walked into the clinic forty years ago, they knew they’d found a special place. It became the rallying point for Wilkins and his wife, who created the Wilkins Foundation to support the work of the clinic.

So when the Wilkins Foundation asked TT&H to contribute to the annual Lenny Wilkens Foundation Celebrity Classic Weekend, their biggest fundraiser of the year, we just had to step up. We were thrilled to donate to their charity auction, to be held on August 12. Yay! We love good causes and we love that the Wilkins Foundation has raised over $2.5 million since 1970.

Now, we know our TT&H family is both generous and likes to have fun so we have some good news and some better news. Although tickets to the celebrity weekend are nearly sold out (the golf tourney is sold out but the auction has a few seats left) we think this is good news for the foundation. Way to go! The better news is that this year, the foundation’s 40th, they have a swell campaign running: $40 for 40 years.

A contribution of $40 will ensure the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic will continue to:

- Provide much needed well-child visits for children 0-2 years old.
- Give families access to critical dental care.
- Deliver a variety of mental health services.
- Provide access to chronic disease programs focused on asthma, diabetes and sickle cell anemia.
- Continue mentoring and education programs for low income families.

 Like a concierge at a fine hotel we really care about our clients.  We want our customers to enjoy their visit to our store, return for future shopping experiences and let everyone know how well they were treated.  We follow the same equation as many of the fine hotels: We treat ladies and gentlemen like ladies and gentlemen. 

However, before we can practice any rules on good customer service we have to note our staff.  We only hire employees who genuinely like people and are interested in others.  All good things start with our cheerful and professional staff and without them, it just wouldn’t make sense to be in business. We make sure that good customer service is not only expected but exemplified throughout all levels of our business, including behind the scene procedures and policies that we know ultimately have an impact on customer satisfaction. 

We also believe that everyone who walks though our doors is a customer: past present or future.  It doesn’t matter who you are or what you need, we are here to assist you in order for you to make informed decision on what you may be purchasing.  This is why we spend a particularly good amount of time training our staff on the products we carry.  We pride ourselves on keeping up with every new introduction from our valued vendors.  We have regular visits from our vendor representatives to keep up on available products, deliveries and quality performance.  There is a lot of detail to behind the scene product support. 

We have the expertise to be able to walk each and every customer through our store to show unique details to just about everything they see.  We understand that it could be a bit overwhelming to consider all the products we stock or can special order, but this is why our staff is so valuable.  They know their stuff.  Any member of our staff will be able to ask the right questions and can help guide our customers so they are able to understand what makes any particular product unique.   Their explanation of nuances between comparable products should further guarantee customer satisfaction.  These important customer considerations are one of the reasons our bridal and gift registry program is so successful.   We know what items lay the important foundation for setting up a new household or giving a gracious and meaningful gift.  It is all in the details.
